Freed compresses the videos and photos on your iPhone. It does that entirely on your device: your media is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. This policy explains that in detail, and describes the limited data involved in the ads that keep Freed free, the optional diagnostics you can turn off, and the feedback you choose to send.

The short version. Your videos, photos and Live Photos never leave your device. There is no account and we never ask for your name or email. Ads come from Google AdMob, and they use your device's advertising identifier only if you allow tracking. Anonymous diagnostics (usage events and crash reports) are on by default and you can turn them off in Settings. Feedback is sent only when you write and send it.

1. Who we are

Freed: Video Compressor (the “App”) is provided by Tu Luu (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at tuluu1902@gmail.com.

2. What stays on your device

Freed's core features run locally using Apple frameworks (Photos, AVFoundation, VideoToolbox and ImageIO). The following are processed and stored only on your device, and we have no access to them:

The videos, photos and Live Photos you browse, preview or compress, and the compressed copies Freed creates.
Files you open from the Files app. Freed works on a temporary copy and deletes it when you are done.
The results of scanning your library to estimate how much space you could free (file sizes, dates and similar details), kept in a local cache.
Videos prepared by Auto-compress, kept in the App's own storage until you save or discard them, and for no more than 14 days.
Your settings, such as quality, file naming, appearance and language.

Freed never uploads your media, never reads it for any purpose other than compressing it, and never deletes an original unless you ask it to. When you do, iOS asks you to confirm, and the item goes to Recently Deleted in Photos.

3. Data that leaves your device

Freed is free and supported by ads, and it needs an internet connection to run. The services below are the only ones that receive data from the App. None of them receive your videos, photos or their content.

Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are sent only while Settings → Share diagnostics is on. We do not sell your data, and we do not combine it with data from other companies to identify you.

4. Your choices

Personalized ads (App Tracking Transparency). Freed asks once whether it may use your advertising identifier. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, you still see ads, but they are not personalized using that identifier. You can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
Ad consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Where required, a Google consent form lets you accept or decline ad personalization. You can reopen it from Settings → Privacy choices in Freed.
Diagnostics. Turn off Share diagnostics in Freed's Settings to stop analytics events and crash reports.
Feedback. Nothing is sent unless you write a message and tap Send.
Your media. You decide what to compress, what to save and whether to delete any original.

5. Device permissions

Photos. Used to show your videos and photos, compress the ones you choose, save compressed copies and, only when you ask, delete originals. With Limited access, Freed works only with the items you select.
Notifications. Used to tell you when a compression that continued in the background has finished, or when Auto-compress has videos ready.
Tracking. The App Tracking Transparency prompt described in section 4.

You can change any permission in iOS Settings. Freed does not use your camera, microphone, contacts or location. Location information already inside your photos is kept in the compressed copy and never read or sent by Freed.

6. Children

Freed is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Retention and security

Media and settings stay on your device until you delete them or delete the App.
Feedback messages are kept until we have dealt with them and no longer need them. Hashed IP addresses are erased after 24 hours.
Firebase keeps analytics and crash data according to Google's retention settings (at most 14 months for analytics events and 90 days for crash reports).
All data sent by the App travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, or to object to how it is used. Because Freed has no accounts, we usually cannot link diagnostics or feedback to you. If you want feedback you sent deleted, email us with the approximate date and text and we will remove it. For ad data, use the choices in section 4 and Google's own controls.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how Freed handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will also be reflected in the App Store listing's privacy details.
