Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Freed: Video Compressor (the “App”), provided by Tu Luu (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple EULA”). Where these Terms and the Apple EULA differ, these Terms apply to the extent allowed by the Apple EULA.

2. Free, ad-supported app

The App is free to download and use and shows ads. It needs an internet connection to run. We may add optional paid features in the future; any purchase will be made through the App Store, under Apple's terms, and the price will be shown before you buy.

3. Your content

Your videos and photos remain yours. The App processes them on your device and does not upload them to us. You are responsible for having the rights to the media you compress, share or save.

4. Compression and deleting originals

Compression reduces file size by reducing quality, resolution or frame rate. Results depend on the source, and size estimates shown before compressing are predictions, not guarantees. The target-size option is designed to stay under the size you set.
Some details may not carry over to a compressed copy, for example depth data in Portrait photos or the brightest HDR highlights. The App tells you where it knows this will happen.
The App deletes an original only when you ask it to and iOS asks you to confirm. Deleted items go to Recently Deleted in Photos, where iOS keeps them for a limited time. Please make sure you are happy with the compressed copy before deleting an original and before emptying Recently Deleted. Keep backups of media that matter to you.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the App to break the law or infringe anyone's rights, and do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt or misuse the App, its ads or our feedback service, except where the law allows it.

6. Intellectual property

The App, its name, icon and design belong to us or our licensors. These Terms do not give you any rights to them beyond the license in section 1.

7. Third-party services

The App uses services from third parties, including Google AdMob and Firebase. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third-party ads or the sites they lead to. See our Privacy Policy for what data these services receive.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that compressed files will meet your particular needs.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or media, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid us for it, if any. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your license if you breach these Terms. Sections 3 to 9 continue to apply after termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top. If you keep using the App after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
